Located a short 15 minute commute to Boone and AppState University in quiet Trade, TN, a short 2 mile drive from the NC/TN state line in Zionville NC. Walk or hike on 35+ beautiful acres or head out to the Appalachian Trail or bike the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus 25 minutes from your front door. This modern apartment for one is 1/2 of a large barn with a covered parking space right at your door. (see photo, the hay is no longer there). Best for a single individual, a dog may be considered. The sleeping loft with built in ladder is perfect for your full/queen size mattress, high ceilings, kitchen with fridge/freezer and a mini split make this efficient unit budget friendly. Tenant pays electric, and is a great way to have a peaceful quiet space at the end of the day and not fight traffic and rent prices in Boone.
This studio apartment home is two years young with hardwood floors, relaxing rough cut wood on one wall safe for posters and decorating and natural lighting, the bathroom with glass shower sits at the rear of the space and small kitchenette is well suited for the space. Spectrum is hard wired to the unit and is an option, or put your starling right outside and enjoy the stars and a clear view, in winter the views of the mountains are beautiful, and in the summer the natural green surroundings make a perfect spot to grab a chair and sit back and enjoy a book on your porch.
Bring your own grill if you enjoy barbecuing, and if you're not in the mood for cooking, take a short 6-8 minute drive down to Mountain City TN where you'll find Food Lion, Pizza choices, multiple fast food spots, gas stations, three dollar stores, and take a friend to the new super hip Know Better Coffee with amazing food and house roasted coffee across located just across the street from the farm store with clothing, boots and shoes and goods for every season. Mountain City also has a hospital and a new urgent care center along with a Walgreens and a full local pharmacy with gifts and cards, etc.!
The Farmers Market is Saturdays in the park, and there is a rec center with lots of activities along with pop-up local fruit and food trucks. Take a 20 minute ride out to Watauga lake to kayak or grab a rod and a pontoon boat for a day of fun. Need a flight? Tri-Cities airport is an easy drive just over an hour and is a modern new airport close to Bristol TN/VA and the NASCAR track.
The kitchen has pots, pans, dishes, basic spices, condiments, and other basic necessities to save some money at the restaurants and make your meals at home. Feel free to help yourself to the snack basket, and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa from the Keurig. Creamer, sugar, Stevia and Splenda is also available. We also provide basic cooking essentials and condiments that you may use if you please.
A newly remodeled bathroom is complete with a tub/shower combo and a high shower head so those tall folks don't have to bend over! The commode is chair height and there is also a potty seat in the linen closet for the littles that might be tagging along. Taking a trip to the beach during your stay? Don't forget to grab beach towels from the cabinet before you leave!
Need to work while you are here? No worries, Madeline's Place has you covered with a modern faux marble top desk and rolling desk chair so you can easily connect to the high speed wireless internet and get to it!
For laundry there is a laundromat in Mountain City or head into Boone.
The property is located on a private gravel driveway about 200 yards off of HWY 421 (King Street in Boone) with no through traffic. It's the perfect spot to take a hike up a quiet gravel road to the spring or the top of the mountain to see the views or pick some wildflowers, or even camp out!
Other things to note: There is no mail receptacle so you'll need a post office box or other place to send your mail. Amazon and other deliveries are OK at our main parking area.
